Rockets' Jabari Smith returns after missing 22 games with a broken left hand

HOUSTON — Houston Rockets forward Jabari Smith Jr. returned against the Minnesota Timberwolves after missing 22 games with a broken left hand. Smith came off the bench and had 15 points and nine rebounds in Houston's 121-115 win Friday night. Smith broke a metacarpal in his hand during the team's shootaround on Jan. 3. Fred VanVleet missed his eighth straight game with a right ankle strain. Rudy Gobert missed his second straight game with lower back spasms for Minnesota, but Mike Conley had 5 points in his return after missing four games with a sprained right index finger.
