WVU's Small, Iowa State's Jones trade baskets in entertaining duel between Big 12's top scorers

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia's Javon Small and Iowa State's Curtis Jones put on an entertaining show in a duel between the Big 12's top two scorers. Jones put up 11 of his 18 points in the first half and had the second-ranked Cyclones in position to win down the stretch. Then Small caught fire, scoring 18 of his 27 points over the final nine minutes to propel the Mountaineers to a 64-57 win Saturday night. Small leads the conference in scoring while Jones is second with a 17.8-point average, two points behind Small. Iowa State coach T.J. Otzelberger says Small is playing at as high a level as anyone in the Big 12.
