COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina has hired Jeremiah Donati of TCU as its athletic director. The university's Board of Trustees approved Donati's hiring Thursday. He'll receive a contract that runs through June 30, 2031. He'll make $1.9 million. Donati takes over for Ray Tanner, a two-time national championship baseball coach for the Gamecocks who has led the athletic department since 2012. Donati becomes the second AD hired from TCU by South Carolina in the past two decades. Eric Hyman came from there to become AD in 2005. He served until 2012, when Tanner took over.
