SAINT-QUENTIN-EN-YVELINES, France — Golf had its first real Olympic moment at Le Golf National. There were fans — thousands of them. Rory McIlroy is playing for the second time in the Olympics and feels like he was there for the first time. Olympic officials say the 30,000 tickets have been sold, but no one was sure how many would show up at a course some 45 minutes away from Paris. The answer was plenty, and they were loud and wild. Some 20,000 spectators lines fairways and greens. The biggest cheers were for Victor Perez of France hitting the opening tee shot and fellow Frenchman Matthieu Pavon everywhere he went.
