VERSAILLES, France — Britain has won its first gold medal at the Paris Olympics by successfully defending its equestrian team eventing title. For Laura Collett on London 52 and Tom McEwen on JL Dublin it was another gold after they paired together at the Tokyo Games. They were joined by a different teammate this time as Rosalind Canter won her first Olympic gold riding Lordships Graffalo. Host France took the silver medal with Stéphane Landois vigorously celebrating and Japan took bronze for its first equestrian medal since 1932.
