Freestyle BMX star Hannah Roberts aims for the Olympic gold in Paris that eluded her in Tokyo

Turns out Olympians and Paralympians are just like us: They watch the Summer Games or Winter Games on TV and think about which sports they would love to try. The difference, of course, is that the folks heading to Paris in July and August, already have a sport — and already are quite good at it.

PARIS — Hannah Roberts narrowly missed out on winning the freestyle BMX gold medal in the discipline's Olympic debut at the Tokyo Games. The American standout had to settle for silver behind Britain's Charlotte Worthington. But the 22-year-old Roberts has spent much of the past three years working to rectify that disappointment, and the five-time world champion is once again the heavy favorite to win the gold medal. The freestyle BMX finals take place July 31 at Place de la Concorde in the heart of Paris.
