THE SWIMMING POOL — I'm a sucker for adorable animal interactions. Like when bears jump on a trampoline, a baby lion plays with a baby lamb, or a meerkat helps an elderly goat cross a busy intersection.
Even though I'm more of a cat person than a dog person, I'll be the first to admit that dogs are often at the heart of these interactions. Dogs seem to have impressive levels of exuberance, friendliness and loyalty that naturally lead to interacting adorably with other animals.
This video is a good example.
Would you ever see a cat give its buddy a ride across the swimming pool? Not likely.
For starters, cats generally don't like swimming. But even if this were a land-based scenario where a small cat needed to hop on the back of a larger cat to get across a certain area of the grass, it's unlikely the larger cat would allow it. More likely, it'd swat the small cat with its paw and then run away in disgust.
In this video, however, the larger dog seems to actually enjoy helping its friend. And you get the impression this isn't the first time the chihuahua has wanted a ferry ride. For all we know, it might even be a daily occurrence. And if that isn't an example of friendship, I don't know what is.
