BATON ROUGE, La. — LSU women's basketball great Seimone Augustus is returning to the school as an assistant coach. Augustus in 2023 became the first LSU female athlete to have a statue built in her honor and she will be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in October. Augustus led LSU to its first three NCAA Final Fours, was The Associated Press national player of the year in 2006 and the No. 1 overall WNBA draft pick that year. She won four WNBA championships and was an eight-time All-Star. She retired as a player in 2020.
