LOUISVILLE, Ky. — For Rory McIlroy, there was no better place than the golf course. The 35-year-old, who surprised the golf world when he filed divorce papers earlier this week, shot 5-under 66 to open the PGA Championship. He left Valhalla after his first round four shots behind Xander Schauffele, who shot a tournament-record 62. McIlroy again refused comment about his personal life but said he always loves being inside the ropes at a golf tournament. He made six birdies in the opening round, though his best hole might have been the par he saved on the 18th hole after driving his tee shot in the water.
