NEW YORK, Mar 23, 2004 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- U.S. Internet users rarely buy prescription drugs online, with many of them citing safety concerns, according to a Harris poll.
Harris found that 60 percent of U.S. Internet users think it is more dangerous to order prescription drugs online than to buy them at brick-and-mortar outlets, the Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday.
When they did buy drugs on the Internet it normally was for existing medicines previously bought at a pharmacy or received as a sample from a doctor's office.
The survey revealed that of the 6,000,000 who have bought prescription drugs online, 34 percent reported being more satisfied with using the Internet versus buying drugs from a pharmacy.
