The Cougars opened bowl week by holding their final open practice (helmets/shoulder pads) at the Indoor Practice Facility Monday night, before a closed morning session Tuesday precedes two days of practices in Las Vegas.

Post-practice interviews with Bronco Mendenhall, Harvey Unga, Matt Bauman, Dallas Reynolds and Brandon Howard can be heard by clicking their respective audio links in the "Cougar Cuts" box to the lower right.

Bronco said 6-8 players (non two-deep) will be left home for failure to meet certain program standards during the fall.

TE Dennis Pitta (MCL sprain) participated in "skelly" (7-on-7) sessions today, but will probably be held out of full team periods until the practice sessions in Las Vegas.

CB Scott Johnson may be ready to do some drills on Tuesday, but will likely be kept out of any one-one-one work until gameday. He has gone from questionable to possible for the Las Vegas Bowl.

No other players are considered injury question marks at this point.

It snowed in Las Vegas today, and a wintry week is forecast for Southern Nevada, with lows in the 30s and highs only in the 40s. Saturday's forecast high may reach 50 degrees.
