Looking for an easy, free, non-traditional way to keep the kids busy, orchestrate a fun date night, or catch up with friends? Noorda College of Osteopathic Medicine has you covered with the school's grand opening on Saturday, March 9. The event offers something for people of all ages and interests.
Complete the medically themed escape room
Noorda students use "OSCE" (objective structured clinical examination) rooms to practice their diagnosis skills on a patient actor. They will put you in the same rooms on March 9 to escape by solving clues and diagnosing a professional patient actor! (This activity is recommended for teens and adults, because of the complexity of the puzzles.)

Enroll your kids in a "mini med school"
Two giant classrooms will be devoted to activities for children ages 3-11. Games will include a giant version of Operation, anatomy Twister, a mini "infection zone" obstacle course, and more. Your kids can also test out real medical equipment, including stethoscopes, otoscopes and ophthalmoscopes.
Experience the (robotic) miracle of life
Patient simulators — life-sized robots with a myriad of complex features — will be running at the grand opening. You can witness school simulator Lucina give birth or watch simulator Apollo experience a heart attack (including usage of a real defibrillator).

Watch a doctor in action
If you're interested in medicine and have been looking for a more academic activity — this paragraph is for you! You can:
- Explore all the areas the current students use—the Simulation Center, the learning pods, the OMM lab, etc.
- (Virtually) visit the school's state-of-the-art anatomy lab, through its augmented reality tour.
- Participate in the augmented reality tour to learn more about Noorda-COM's curriculum.
- Learn more about the "DO difference" and watch live OMM demonstrations.
- Chat with current students and an admissions representative.
Enter an alternate reality
Noorda College of Osteopathic Medicine partnered with Continuum XR to create six augmented reality touring experiences. Dispersed throughout the building, these augmented reality experiences help explain the medical school through videos, animation, "holographic" designs and more.
Visitors can also attend the ribbon-cutting, take part in a service project for veterans and first-responders, participate in a wellness activity, enjoy food and swag, or purchase items from food trucks on Saturday, March 9, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Learn more about Noorda-COM's Grand Opening here.
