NFL playoff teams have used expanded practice squads to bring in established veterans for the stretch run. Players like Browns quarterback Joe Flacco and Bills running back Leonard Fournette were out of football earlier in the year before joining their teams' respective practice squads. The moves allowed them to re-immerse themselves in the game before returning to the active roster. Both will be on the field this weekend as their teams try to keep their Super Bowl hopes alive. Coaches say the "stigma" surrounding practice squad players is changing and that veteran players now see it as a way to extend their career and not something that is beneath them.
