Bavarian culture will once again merge with mountain vistas at Snowbasin Resort's annual SnowWiesn Oktoberfest. Every Sunday from September 3 through October 8, attendees can soak in the festive atmosphere and endless entertainment options — all while surrounded by the beauty of an award-winning resort.
This year, the festival promises a rich blend of traditional German activities. One being Masskrugstemmen, where participants compete in a stein-holding competition on the concert stage. Another is Hammerschlagen, a spirited challenge where friends vie to drive a nail into a large tree stump.
For those who want to look the part, the festival promises an exciting Costume Competition. So don your best Bavarian-themed attire (lederhosen and dirndls highly encouraged) and step on stage — you might just win one of several delightful prizes.
If you're less competitive (or looking for a more laid-back experience), just head to the Wildflower Meadow. There, cornhole, lawn games and other classic activities are available for guests of all ages.
Of course, it wouldn't be Oktoberfest without beer – and this year, SnowWiesn's iconic collectible (and, most importantly, refillable) steins are back by popular demand. Mugs will be for sale at the event, but if you've already purchased one earlier this summer, you can bring it back for refills at any SnowWiesn event this season.
Music in the mountains

Throughout the SnowWiesn Oktoberfest, attendees will be treated to a diverse array of musical performances each Sunday. Kicking off the lineup on September 3, guests will hear from Note of Passage and Muddpuddle. The festival will also showcase bands like J-Rad Cooley Band, Michelle Moonshine Trio and Lash Larue, among many others each weekend of the festival. Here's what you can expect this year:

New vendors

After a successful first year in 2022, Snowbasin's Mountain Market, a vendor area at the festival, is returning. Local creators and vendors set up in Wildflower Meadows for you to browse and shop. Among the offerings are authentic German desserts, handcrafted jewelry, art, local produce and more.
Gondola rides
Those interested in taking a scenic gondola ride can purchase tickets for $29. If you're a Premier Season Pass holder, you'll get complimentary access to both the SnowWiesn Oktoberfest events and the gondola, so be sure to take advantage of those benefits.

Dogs are also welcome at Snowbasin Resort—a perk not many other resorts offer. Just be sure to keep Fido on a leash and pick up after him.
Celebrate autumn at Snowbasin
If Bavarian fun isn't your thing, you're sure to find something that is each weekend of September at Snowbasin. Saturdays the resort is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays at 5 p.m. to a number of outdoor activities.
For the hikers, Snowbasin offers more than 26 miles of gondola-accessed trails that start near the Needles Lodge. Gondola tickets are $25 each. Mountain bikers looking to put down some watts have access to equal miles of single-track trails that wind through aspen groves and glades of pine.
If you're looking for something less strenuous and more competitive, try the Wildflower Mini-Golf, a challenging 18-hole mini-golf course with a beautiful backdrop of the Wasatch Mountains.
