MONMOUTH, Ore. — There will be more than 160 programs in the country playing football at the Division II level this season. Only two Western Oregon and Central Washington offer D-II football in the Western United States. That's in a sprawling an area of more than 68 million people. There are no D-II schools in California, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Wyoming or Montana. Both schools have had to pay more to travel for games. Both say they are willing to keep doing it, at least for now.
