MELBOURNE, Australia — Marta has been in a reflective mood in her last trip to the World Cup, contemplating her two decades of playing for Brazil and the fight to advance women's soccer worldwide. Brazil's star forward says "We are aware of everything we have been building in our careers. I try to focus on the whole picture." After thinking more about the growth of women's football, Marta teared up. There were very few role models when she started out, she says, "I didn't have an idol -- a female idol." She made the point in a news conference that women's soccer didn't get a lot of media attention back then and asked: "How was I supposed to see other players?"
