THE CHICKEN COOP — One tiny chicken is making strides, despite a physical disability.

When Nubz was rescued by his current owner, she noticed he was missing the the tips of his feet, hence the name Nubz.

"In the beginning he didn't move much, and then I realized I that I had these old dog shoes that we don't use anymore and so I put them on," the owner told The Dodo. "It was really funny to watch at first. He finally started getting the hang of it after a week or so."

Soon Nubz got a few more pairs of shoes, thanks to his grandma and, today, his shoe collection contains about 30 pairs. That collection is far from his biggest accomplishment, however. Nubz has risen to internet stardom, gaining 134K followers on TikTok under the username @calliopenubz.

The owner said Nubz is much more mobile with shoes on, which she's taken as a sign that pain was preventing the chicken from moving around previously.

"He has so much more attitude now that he has the boots. I think it's just because it's given him the confidence that he can go farther," the owner said. "Now when he wears the boots, he's ready to take on the world."
