CENTERVILLE — This weekend's scheduled I-15 closure in Davis County has been postponed because of a snowstorm currently hitting the Wasatch Front.

All lanes of southbound I-15 between Parrish Lane in Centerville and Park Lane in Farmington were scheduled to be closed each night March 24-27 for construction.

Mitch Shaw, senior communications manager for the Utah Department of Transportation, said Friday the road closure will now likely be postponed to next weekend, March 31-April 3.

"That's what we hope to do, but with this crazy weather we've been having — we don't know," Shaw said.

The Utah Department of Transportation announced crews will be placing beams for a future bridge connecting the West Davis Highway to the interstate highway. This is part of the ongoing West Davis Highway Plan, which includes the creation of a 16-mile-long, four-lane highway.

I-15 closures are expected tp continue intermittently through April. Construction is scheduled to finish by 2024.
