MICHIGAN — The town of Munising is located in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. It's known for the nearby Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, which is jaw-droppingly beautiful. And the area is also home to five lighthouses and more than a dozen waterfalls.

But the reason I'm highlighting Munising today is because of this unusual ice that occurred there recently.

The fellow making this video is walking out over Munising Bay on Lake Superior. The ice was apparently thick enough for safety but had the appearance of a glass-bottomed boat or something.

"Myself and other lifelong residents have never seen the ice freeze over in such a manner," the video caption states. "It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The ice was approximately 5-6 inches thick, providing a great opportunity for people to walk, ice skate and ice fish on the bay."

Can you imagine fishing on ice like that? You could obviously leave the fish finder at home, since you'd be able to see all the underwater action in stunning clarity.
