SALT LAKE CITY — Frank Jackson is back in the NBA, and this time he'll be very close to home.
The former Lone Peak star has signed a 10-day contract with the Utah Jazz, The Athletic reported on Tuesday.
Jackson spent the season with Salt Lake City Stars, the Jazz's G League affiliate, where he averaged 19.3 points and shot 40% from 3-point range. He participated in the G League showcase game on Sunday as part of All-Star weekend.
"I feel like I'm right in the middle of everything, but this is also a clean slate and fresh start with my prior five years in the league," Jackson said on Sunday. "It's cool that I can translate my experience of the last couple of years, being around some real professional veterans, and bring it to this environment. It's been awesome and really eye-opening."
Jackson played five seasons in the NBA after being drafted in 2017 by the New Orleans Pelicans. He played three seasons in New Orleans — though, he missed his entire first season with an injury — and two more with the Detroit Pistons. He averaged 10.6 points in 53 games last season.
Jackson won't be the only new Jazz player when the team reconvenes after the All-Star break. Utah also signed former lottery pick Kris Dunn to a 10-day contract, according to Yahoo Sports.
Dunn was taken with the fifth pick of the draft in 2016. He played in just four games last season after signing a 10-day deal with the Portland Trail Blazers.
With the two signings, the Jazz's roster is back to the league limit of 14.
