THE STAGE — I got my first guitar when I was 18. I loved that thing and still do to this day.

As you can imagine, I was a pretty abysmal guitar player. I still am, but I was terrible back then. I knew how to misplay two songs and five, maybe six chords. My absolute lack of skills, however, never stopped me from dreaming.

At that time, my favorite band was Pearl Jam. I had a recurring fantasy I would be at their concert and Eddie Vedder would call me to the stage. I'd take the guitar from Mike McCready and play a perfect rendition of "Yellow Ledbetter" as Eddie sang. Not only did that never happen, but if it did it would have been wildly embarrassing as I didn't know the first thing about playing that complex guitar piece.

Thankfully this 17-year-old from Lehi did get pulled onto the big stage, and he knew exactly what he was doing.

The Killers recently played in front of thousands at Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City. According to the YouTube description, a group with the teen from Lehi held a sign that said, "let me drum with my heroes" for most of the show. Toward the concert's end, frontman Brandon Flowers decided to roll the dice on the teen and called him to the stage.

Alec Andersen, of Lehi, then got behind the drum kit and played "For Reasons Unknown" along with the band. The teen played the tune flawlessly as The Killers drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr. picked up a guitar and watched.

The video is a blast to watch, and I'm grateful this youth not only lived out a version of my dream but actually did it justice.
