CEDAR CITY — A 21-year-old St. George man was arrested Saturday evening after police say he enticed a 14-year-old girl into his bedroom via cellphone messages that were sexual in nature.
Cameron Lee Carr was booked into Iron County Jail shortly after 10:30 p.m. Saturday. Earlier that day, Enoch police had received a call regarding a juvenile who had reportedly gone missing from her grandmother's house in Enoch sometime during the night of July 29.
According to the probable cause statement filed in support of Carr's arrest, police identified Carr as a suspect in the girl's disappearance after finding several conversations sent via Instagram that discussed sexual activity with the girl.
The girl's mother had provided police with her daughter's phone and access to her Instagram account, the affidavit states.
Later on Saturday, St. George police say they located both Carr and the girl inside Carr's bedroom at the residence where he lives in St. George.
