The potato may belong to the state of Idaho, but as for fries, you'll find some of the best here in Utah. The Beehive State is known for fry sauce (and no, it's not called Mayochup) but the quality of the fries that go with the fry sauce is important.
If you like crinkle cut, sweet potato, or normal fries, there's something for everyone in Utah. Here are some of the best places to try fries in the state.
Greek City Grill
This may just be home to some of the best fries you will ever have in your life! While most people would equate fries with American fast food, there is nothing quite like that salty, fried goodness paired with a chicken gyro or feta cheeseburger that knocks your socks off. These fries are so crispy and battered, you won't be able to stop after just a few.
One Google reviewer said, "The falafel was crisp, tender and delicious. The fries were also great, with a very complementary thin batter and fluffy insides." That's what you like to hear when it comes to your side of spuds.
Greek City Grill is located in Holladay off of Highland Drive.
Lucky 13 Bar
Purewow.com describes the burgers at Lucky 13 as the best in the state of Utah. But you can't forget about their famous sidekick, the garlic fries. Loaded with garlic and salt, these unforgettable potatoes are worth the extra money. Upgrade to include rosemary and you won't regret it.
Susan S. on Google Reviews shared, "Lucky 13 is a must if you're craving a burger. They also have the best fries..the rosemary garlic or Cajun are worth the upgrade! You won't regret it."
You'll find Lucky 13 on 1300 S next to the ballpark.
Cubby's
Cubby's got their start in the heart of Provo, and after the college kids couldn't get enough, they decided to expand throughout the Wasatch Front. Their hearty but healthy options make it a great place for everyone to enjoy something.
They are also well-known for they garlic rosemary fries and their crinkle-cut sweet potato fries. The garlic rosemary fries add a delicious savor to your tri tip steak sandwich while the sweet potato is that comforting taste to go along with your salad. Many recommend getting the chipotle fry sauce if you want a little more spice with your meal.
Kimberly G. had nothing but good things to say in her Google review of the Midvale location. She said, "My whole family can find something they like here... and it is delicious. All of the salads are good. The fry sauce is my favorite in the state. I recommend the half sweet potato, half rosemary fries."
Cubbys is located throughout the Wasatch Front. Visit their website to find a location near you.
Spitz
While you may just want to get your Doner Bowls and pita bread with some tzatziki sauce, don't just casually skip over those sides, because the fries are the secret star of the show. With an option of thin cut or sweet potato waffle fries that are both tossed in a sweet garlic aioli, there is really isn't a wrong way to go.
Their famous Street Car Fries are thin-cut fries topped with feta cheese, onions, green peppers, tomatoes, olives, and pepperoncinis.
Spitz has many locations, visit their website to find one near you.
Bruges
Not only is Bruges known for their delicious waffles (both savory and sweet), but they're also renowned for their crispy fries. Female Foodie lists these fries as her favorite pick in Salt Lake, and for good reason. "Bruges fries their french fries twice, so you get that wonderfully crisp outside that Belgium fries are famous for, "Female Foodie's blog says.
Bruge's website says they have more than 10 house-made dipping sauces to go with their fries, so you'll have a different flavor for each bite!
There are two different locations in Utah: Salt Lake City and Sugarhouse.
Spudtaddos
Not many places will do fries better than a restaurant centered around potatoes. At Spudtaddos, there are a million different ways to do potatoes, but it's the fries that keep people coming back for more.

Bumblebee's BBQ & Grill
Bumblebee's is a fresh fusion take on traditional barbeque foods. For example, they have Korean BBQ philly sandwiches loaded with cabbage, carrots, bell peppers and Sriracha. But their fries are nothing to skip over.
According to their menu, you can get sweet bulgogi beef, spicy pork, spicy chicken or all three atop crispy fries. Throw on some shredded cheese, spicy mayo, Sriracha and green onions for a taste sensation you're not going to forget.
