SANDY — A man died Monday night after being hit by a vehicle.
At about 10 p.m., a vehicle that was heading east near 150 West and 9000 South hit a man, said Sgt. Michael Olsen with the Sandy Police Department. He said the man, believed to be in his 40s, died at the scene.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and Olsen said the driver remained on scene and was cooperating with police.
Olsen said there is no indication that speed or alcohol was a factor in the crash.
On Monday night, traffic heading east in the area was affected for several hours.
