The early pioneer settlers founded the state of Utah on July 24, 1847, according to the Library of Congress. More than 150 years later, the state recognizes July 24 as a state holiday—and that looks different for everyone.
Some people celebrate with parades, fireworks, and the Days of '47 Rodeo.
