THE HOUSE FROM 'UP' — I've never been a big fan of pranks. I don't love pulling them, and I don't really like them being pulled on me. There are some, however, that are quite harmless and can be fun, both ways.
One of the easiest targets when it comes to pranks is grandma. She is so trusting, loving and protective that pulling a fast one on her is like taking candy from a baby — or tying balloons to a baby. Is that a thing? Well, it's a thing now.
The parents in this video pulled a great prank on grandma, and the only thing I don't like about it is that I didn't think about it first.
Our camerawoman is Mom, and she records as Dad fills balloons and ties them to little Emmerson. Grandma is on the other side of the room hanging decorations, not paying attention to anything that's going on behind her. When Dad is ready, Mom points the camera at Grandma and says, "Look at Emerson."
The grandma then gasps and the camera pans over to see an adorable little baby tied to balloons and slowly rising toward the ceiling. The grandma goes into a panic and starts running toward the child, who is very calmly taking a vertical trip. The grandma almost has her hands on the baby when the dad comes out from behind the door jam, revealing that he was lifting the little one the whole time.
Thankfully, Grandma seemed to be a good sport and Emerson has no idea what was going on.
To any of my friends or family reading this: I love this video, but don't get any ideas about pranks on me.
And to the grandmas in my life: Be prepared. I know it's hypocritical, but I don't really care.
