THE BALLGAME — Kids always have their phones these days. Also, it's me; I'm "kids."
In my defense, having your phone in your hand all the time has a lot of perks. I mean, it's literally the accumulation of all human knowledge and can show me cat videos whenever I need them.
Just think, if you wanted to see a photo of a turtle in a top hat in an era before the 2000s, you'd have to go to the library and hope for the best in a book. Now, all of the turtles in top hats are at my fingertips. We live in the most magical era.
Beyond the splendor of cats and turtles, having a phone glued to your hand has brought us another great classic: catching a home run from the first-person point of view.
ESPN caught the highlight and posted it on Instagram.
He runs, he catches it, and right next to the mitt — it's his phone.
Then we see it from his perspective, and it's as hectic and awe-inspiring as you'd expect catching a home run would be.
So yeah, Mom, tease me all you want about staring at social media or looking up how to fold my sheets. Someday, maybe I'll have a cool video like this.
Have You Seen This?
