U.S. driving falls 10.3% in December: Department of Transportation

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Travel on U.S. roads fell 10.3% in December 2020 after falling 11.1% in November as coronavirus cases continued to increase, the U.S. Transportation Department said Thursday.

The U.S. government said drivers logged 244.1 billion vehicle miles in December, down 28.1 billion vehicle miles from the same month in 2019.

For the year, travel in 2020 fell 13.2% to 2,829.7 billion vehicle miles, the lowest in a year since 2001.
