SALT LAKE CITY — Donovan Mitchell has already won a Slam Dunk Contest and made two All-Star Games. So, naturally, he's trying to add to his accolades at the NBA's midseason showcase.

On Wednesday, the day after he was named to his second All-Star Game, Mitchell said he would be participating in the 3-point contest that will be held during the pregame portion of the All-Star Game on March 7.

"Yeah, I'll be in it. I'm doing it. So I'm excited," Mitchell said.

With the Jazz leading the league in 3-pointers made and attempted, it makes sense for Utah to be represented in the shooting exhibition; and Mitchell tried to bring along another teammate: Joe Ingles.

Ingles has famously denied all efforts to get him to participate in All-Star Weekend throughout his career — and this year was no different.

"I've been begging Joe to get in it but he's old so he's going to sit in his rocking chair or something with the kids," Mitchell said. "But I'm definitely doing it. I'm excited. I just found out today."

Mitchell is shooting a career-high 39% from 3-point range and is fifth in the league in 3-point attempts at 8.7.
