THE INTERVIEW — A good professional teaches their talents and creates a community in their wake. This is certainly the case for Nate Eaton, the news director for EastIdahoNews.com, who's clearly passed on his journalistic skillset to his daughter, Emmy.
"7 Questions with Emmy" is an adorable series in which Emmy sits down and interviews various people, from the marketing manager at her local Chick-Fil-A to Melaleuca CEO Frank Vandersloot. She has her trusty paper with questions she delivers like a pro, with her dad behind the camera for moral support.
The series recently returned with a very special guest — Keith Morrison from NBC's Dateline. The ensuing interview is probably the sweetest, most fun 4 minutes you'll ever watch.
Morrison and Emmy discuss a broad variety of topics, from Morrison's love of chocolate chip cookies to how to stay happy despite reporting on difficult stories. Sadly, I could not find video evidence of the pie incident Morrison discusses, but I like to think imagining it is better.
On a more serious note, one of my favorite moments of the video is when Emmy and Morrison discuss his recent time in Idaho, where he interviewed Nate Eaton for a Dateline episode on the Lori Vallow case. Eaton's reporting helped bring the case to national attention.
So, if you're in the mood to enjoy an uplifting chat or learn something new, give this video a watch. It's clear that Emmy is on track to be an excellent reporter, just like her dad.
