This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.

Brad Sahleen started working in a warehouse for a distribution company when he was 20 years old. He excelled at the job and worked his way up to the general manager position by age 24. The company became a $350 million business, but it was purchased by another organization. Brad went to the first meeting of the new organization and he didn't like what he heard so he decided to go into business for himself.

Brad's company, QVS Marketing, incorporated in 1997 and is a great success story. I enjoyed visiting with Brad and his wife, Diane. They are a dynamic team that is building a great name and reputation as a factory-direct manufacturers' representative firm and distributor. With offices in China, Taiwan and Singapore, QVS Marketing specializes in Asian product sourcing. The Sandy-based company also sells wholesale equipment and materials to some of the largest companies in the United States.

When I met with him, Brad had just returned from the Far East with new inventory items for his subsidiary company, QVS GadgetWorld. GadgetWorld specializes in personal electronics, fashion LCD, multimedia, Bluetooth, GPS and dozens of high-tech, futuristic gadgets. I had so much fun as Brad and Diane demonstrated some of their neatest items, such as a solar-charging backpack, a water-powered clock, a pair of sunglasses with an invisible FM radio and MP3 player in the frame, a heated infrared jacket, a walkie-talkie wristwatch other fun and useful items.
