Generally, spanking is done out of anger as a reaction to events or behaviors. It induces behavior modification through fear rather than as a result of learning. Research shows that a child who is spanked as a form of disciple tends to become more aggressive. Spanking may bring immediate result but doesn't form a long-term understanding of life lessons.
