Think back five years today.
Remember where you were and what you were doing when you first heard the news. Reflect on the emotions you experienced and the feelings you felt.
One airplane and then another slamming into the World Trade Center in New York City! Then the Pentagon in Washington D.C.! A field in Pennsylvania! The United States of America under attack!
What were your thoughts on that horrible day?
The giant twin towers burning, then collapsing and crushing down. Terrified people scrambling for their lives! The desperate and heroic efforts to save as many as possible! Yet, innocent people, mostly fellow citizens, dying for nothing they had done.
As you watched events unfold that day what kinship did you feel with other Americans? What love did you sense for your country? What prayers did you utter and what resolves did you make about your own life and the future?
