MICHAEL JORDAN’S PLAYGROUND — With sports still shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic, ESPN and Netflix’s “The Last Dance” has become the go-to sports event fans are watching every Sunday night.

Michael Jordan holds a special place in my heart. I grew up a Chicago Bulls fan (and still am, for better or worse) because of No. 23. and everything he accomplished in the 1990s.

For the record: Growing up a Bulls fan in Utah made my middle school days a bit of a struggle, at times. Then again, there were a good amount of classmates who were also Bulls fans.

With Jordan recapturing the sports world once again with “The Last Dance,” a lot of '90s nostalgia is hitting the minds of many, including remembering some of MJ’s old commercials. Arguably his most famous ad is 1992’s “Be Like Mike” by Gatorade. The catchy tune is one of the most recognizable jingles in advertising history.

I mean, who hasn’t ever heard the lyrics “Like Mike, if I can be like Mike” or even the start of the song, “Sometimes I dream, that he is me”?

Jordan is the GOAT. But one thing Jordan will never be the GOAT of is fashion sense.

For those of you who may not know, Mike likes his clothes extra baggy. And it’s not just a '90s or even 2000s thing. There are plenty of photos of him at events in recent years dressed as if he just got back from a 2002 Nelly concert.

When asked why his dad dresses in baggy clothes, Jordan’s son Marcus told Sole Collector in 2019, “he’s just comfortable.”

This week, House of Highlights recreated Gatorade’s “Be Like Mike” ad to pay homage to Michael Jordan: the baggy jeans, backward hat, blazer two-sizes-too-big wearing hero.

They nailed Mike’s style, including the rips in the jeans, big earrings and cigar in mouth!

We love you, MJ, but with all the money you have, may I suggest investing in a stylist who’s not obsessed with the early 2000s?

Style is definitely one thing I can easily say LeBron James has an advantage over Jordan.
