ANDREW LACK OUSTED AS NBC NEWS CHIEF

NEW YORK (AP) — During his glory years, Andrew Lack was the person NBC would turn to help the news division out of a shaky position. Now, Lack has been turned out by his bosses — after putting the network’s news division in a sticky situation. There no little irony that Lack was cut loose yesterday — the same day Ronan Farrow was named winner of a Pulitzer Prize for covering the Harvey Weinstein scandal. Farrow had his work published by New Yorker magazine after he claimed his NBC bosses weren’t interested his investigation into sexual assault allegations against the Hollywood producer. Taking over as head of NBC News is Ceasar Conde, who is an executive with Telemundo.

MICK JAGGER DOES OLD-TIME NEWS SEGMENT ON FALLON

UNDATED (AP) — Did you catch Mick Jagger on Jimmy Fallon last night? If you’re thinking, wait, wasn’t Annie Lennox the musical guest — you’re right. But Jagger was on, too. He appeared in a bit made to look like an old BBC clip called “Global News.” During it, a British announcer did the narration as Jagger is urged to stop sitting around playing his guitar — and take on a series of household chores as part of a national effort to fight the coronavirus. Jagger silently — and obediently — takes on several tasks, like gardening, herding sheep, cooking dinner and fixing his car.

JOURNEY DROPS TOUR BECAUSE OF CORONAVIRUS

NEW YORK (AP) — The new coronavirus is still very much in the news. And that means Journey will not be on the road. The rock band has become the latest music act to cancel a tour in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The five-month tour — with fellow rock band The Pretenders, was set to begin May 15 — but has now been scrubbed. In deciding to cancel instead of postponing the tour, Journey did their fans a solid. The cancellation means those who bought tickets can get refunds. That wouldn’t be the case if the tour was delayed.
