TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Balsa Koprivica scored 15 points, and No. 7 Florida State clinched its first ACC regular-season title in school history with an 80-62 victory over Boston College. The Seminoles had a banner ready to celebrate their accomplishment, which was secured with Virginia’s victory over Louisville. FSU will be the No. 1 seed in the tournament and looks to claim its first title since 2012. Derryck Thornton scored 13 points for Boston College.
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — Kihei Clark scored 18 points, including a 3-pointer with 28 seconds left, and No. 22 Virginia recovered after blowing a 14-point second half lead and beat No. 10 Louisville 57-54. The Cavaliers won for the 10th time in 11 games and moved into a tie with the Cardinals for second place in the league standings. The result left the door open for No. 7 Florida State to claim the league title with a victory against Boston College. Mamadi Diakite added 17 points and eight rebounds for Virginia in his final game at John Paul Jones Arena. Jordan Nowora had 18 points and 11 rebounds and Enoch scored 11 for the Cardinals.
DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Vernon Carey Jr. had 25 points and 10 rebounds to help No. 12 Duke beat rival North Carolina 89-76 in the regular-season finale. Graduate reserve Justin Robinson offered a huge spark for the Blue Devils by matching career highs with 13 points and six rebounds. He also blocked a career-best four shots. Garrison Brooks had 26 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Tar Heels. Freshman big man Armando Bacot added 13 points and 12 rebounds. Star freshman point guard Cole Anthony had just nine points for the Tar Heels.
CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) — Isaiah Wong scored 18 points, including a key 3-pointer in overtime, and the Miami Hurricanes made all six free throws in the extra period to beat Syracuse 69-65. The Hurricanes saved their best shooting for overtime, when they went 3 for 6. They shot 37 percent for the game and went 10 for 31 from beyond the arc. Syracuse forward Elijah Hughes, the leading scorer in the Atlantic Coast Conference, took a blow to the head and sat out after halftime. He played all 20 minutes in the first half and scored eight points. Miami broke a three-game losing streak.
SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — T.J. Gibbs scored 22 points in what could have been his final home game as Notre Dame closed out the regular season with a 64-56 victory over Virginia Tech. Gibbs, one of three departing players who were saluted before the Purcell Pavilion fans, hit 7 of 12 shots, including 5 of 8 from 3-point range. Reserve Dane Goodwin added 13 points and nine rebounds for coach Mike Brey's Fighting Irish who got 12 rebounds from double-double machine John Mooney but just seven points. The 6-foot-9 senior forward had entered the game leading the nation in double-doubles with 25. Grad student Rex Pflueger had seven points.
GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) — Nausia Woolfolk scored 16 points, Kiah Gillespie had 15 points and 16 rebounds and the No. 22 Florida State women upsets No. 4 Louisville 62-60 to advance to the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament championship game for only the second time in school history. Of Louisville's four losses this season, two have come at the hands of Florida State. The Seminoles also upended Louisville last month 67-59 behind 25 points and 13 rebounds from Gillespie. Dana Evans had 16 points to lead Louisville in this one. The Seminoles' only other appearance in the title game came in 2015 when they lost to top-seeded Notre Dame.
GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) — Aislinn Konig and Jada Boyd each scored 16 points, and the No. 10 North Carolina State women defeated Boston College 82-75 to reach the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament championship game. Elissa Cunane had 11 points for the Wolfpack, who'll face 22nd-ranked Florida State on Sunday. N.C. State is looking for its first conference tournament championship since 1991. Emma Guy had 19 points and seven rebounds for Boston College, while Taylor Ortlepp added 14.
