PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) — Jacob Young came off the bench and scored 17 points and Rutgers bolstered its NCAA Tournament hopes with a 78-67 victory over No. 9 Maryland. Montez Mathis added 15 points and Gio Baker had 11 as the Scarlet Knights snapped a three-game losing streak. It was their school record 18th home victory this season. Jalen Smith had 16 points and 10 rebounds for Maryland, which has dropped three of its last four. Anthony Cowan added 19 points for the Terps. The game ended with Rutgers fans on the court celebrating.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) — Xavier Tillman Sr. scored 23 points and had 15 rebounds to lead No. 16 Michigan State over No. 20 Penn State 79-71. Rocket Watts added 18 points, Cassius Winston had 14 and Aaron Henry scored 12 for the Spartans who erased a 46-31 halftime deficit to win their fourth straight.

EVANSTON, Ill. (AP) — No. 11 Northwestern (26-3) comes rolling into the Big Ten Tournament with a share of its first regular-season championship in 30 years after going 16-2 in conference to tie sixth-ranked Maryland. Play starts Wednesday in Indianapolis, with Wisconsin meeting Illinois and Minnesota going against Penn State. The second-seeded Wildcats have a quarterfinal matchup Friday against the Michigan-Nebraska winner, with top-seeded Maryland getting Michigan State or Purdue.

UNDATED (AP) — College basketball has reached the final week of the regular season in all the major conferences. A lot is still left to be decided. While No. 6 Kentucky has wrapped up the SEC title and No. 8 Seton Hall has earned a share of the Big East, the ACC, Big 12, Big Ten and Pac-12 all will come down to the wire. The Big Ten has a logjam at the top. Six teams are within two games of one another.
