Man dies from injuries suffered in Salt Lake City shooting

SALT LAKE CITY — A man who was injured in a shooting on Saturday has died, police said Wednesday.

Ghorke Gwen, 20, was critically injured after he was shot in the parking lot of a multi-unit apartment building near 700 North and 900 West on Saturday afternoon. He later died from his injuries.

Authorities were searching for the shooter on Saturday and arrested a man in connection with the incident on Sunday.

Esequiel David Torres, 18, was booked into Salt Lake County Jail on Sunday for investigation of murder and two counts of aggravated robbery, according to a police affidavit.
