PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) — Caleb McConnell had 10 points and 12 rebounds as Rutgers used a balanced team effort in a 64-56 win over Minnesota to continue the program’s best start in the Big Ten, and possibly an AP Top 25 ranking for the first time in over four decades. After starting 1 of 10 from the field and letting Minnesota go 4 of 5, Rutgers coach Steve Pikiell called a timeout 3:30 into the game and his team down 10-2. Whatever was said in the huddle sparked a turnaround. Daniel Oturu led the Gophers with 19 points.
MADISON, Wisc. (AP) — Monika Czinano scored 12 of her 20 points in the fourth quarter and No. 22 Iowa pulled out an 85-78 win over Wisconsin after trailing by 17 points in the third quarter. Niya Beverley added 16 points and seven assists and Abby Laszewski had 14 points and 12 rebounds. Overall there were eight ties and 16 lead changes before Cizinano's basket with 2:29 to play put Iowa up for good.
