CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) — Two-time Atlantic Coast Conference player of the year Travis Etienne is returning to Clemson for his senior season. The 5-foot-10, 210-pound junior running back announced his decision on social media Friday. Etienne became the school's all-time leading rusher after gaining 78 yards on the ground in Clemson's 42-25 loss to LSU in the national championship game Monday night. Etienne says he had long dreamed of playing in the NFL, but was not done with his dreams to play at Clemson. Etienne's teammate, cornerback A.J. Terrell announced he was going pro.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) — Starters get plenty of playing time with the shorthanded Miami Hurricanes, who have been trying to navigate the Atlantic Coast Conference with eight scholarship players available. That will be the case again Saturday when Miami hosts No. 9-ranked Florida State. For the second consecutive season, the Hurricanes roster doesn't approach the maximum 15 scholarship players allowed. This year they have 11, and three are hurt. Miami coach Jim Larranaga blames the lingering impact of an FBI investigation into college basketball that raised questions about his program. No wrongdoing by Larranaga surfaced.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Guard Buddy Boeheim is coming into his own at Syracuse in his second season. The son of longtime Orange coach Jim Boeheim has spent years training and studying the best shooters in basketball. Buddy is averaging 15.7 points and shooting 41.1% from behind the arc to rank third in the Atlantic Coast Conference. At midweek, Buddy was leading the ACC in 3-point shots made with 62. He's also made seven 3-pointers in a game twice this season. The youthful Orange are 10-7 overall, 3-3 in the ACC ahead of a game at Virginia Tech on Saturday.

UNDATED (AP) — It will be a clash of the ACC's titans on Saturday when No. 13 Louisville visits No. 3 Duke for their only scheduled meeting of the season. The teams are tied with No. 9 Florida State for first place in the ACC standings. The Cardinals have struggled against Top 25 teams so far, losing two of three games, while the Blue Devils have won both of their Top 25 matchups. Duke will also be looking to bounce back after a road loss at Clemson this week.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The 19-year-old son of U.S. national team coach Gregg Berhalter has signed with Major League Soccer's Columbus Crew as a homegrown player. Gregg Berhalter coached the Crew from 2013-18 before he was hired by the U.S. Soccer Federation. Midfielder Sebastian Berhalter played for the Crew youth academy from 2014-19 and appeared in 16 games for North Carolina as a freshman last season.
