EAGLE MOUNTAIN — A 6-year-old girl has been found safe after she was first reported missing on Tuesday night, according to city officials.
Aniyah Vandenhoek was last seen about 3 p.m., and she was found shortly after Eagle Mountain city officials made social media posts about 8 p.m. asking for the public's help in finding her.
Officials originally asked residents to check buildings on their property to look for the child.
The girl’s family lives in City Center, but Eagle Mountain officials said in a Facebook post that “we need residents in all areas of Eagle Mountain to be on the lookout.”
Aniyah’s parents had been searching for their daughter for several hours before calling authorities, according to Utah County Sheriff’s Sgt. Spencer Cannon.
Search and rescue teams were also out in the area looking for the girl, he said.
During the search, someone spotted a group of young children riding bikes and found the missing 6-year-old with the group.
