THE OFFICE — Offices are usually known for being pretty boring. I mean, some like to have fun and put in a ping pong table or some bean bag chairs to shake things up, but at the end of the day they're pretty dull.
However, one H&R Block office in Virginia Beach, Virginia figured out a way to really spice things up. They decided to hire a bald eagle as one of their accountants, and it really drew a crowd and helped alleviate a lot of the stress other employees felt. The eagle was down to earth, witty, an all-around joy, and named employee of the month her first week there.
Wait, what was that? This isn't what happened at all? I see.
I'd like to retract what was written and let you all know this was not a marketing ploy nor an attempt to up employee morale. I assume, then, that the bald eagle had fantastic referrals and a strong resume, and that's why she was hired. I am sorry for my small-mindedness and preconceived biases that our nation's symbol of freedom and pride could not successfully help you fill out a 1099 and receive a maximum refund.
Excuse me? That's not the case either? OK, then.
How about we just let those involved tell the story.
"Insurance agent pulls up to work on a Monday morning to discover a bald eagle had flown through an office glass window next door at a tax office. The eagle had flown in with a seagull in its mouth. The eagle survived but the seagull did not." That sad news about the seagull is from ViralHog’s YouTube description.
It goes on to read, "The eagle had several times tried running into the glass door from the inside trying to escape. The eagle after getting herself up on the chair that was against the wall next to the large glass window flew away gracefully into the wild blue yonder."
