UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) — Stef Smith had 24 points as Vermont easily beat Central Connecticut 81-49 in the Hall of Fame Tip-Off on Saturday night.

Smith hit 9 of 12 shots and had six rebounds.

Anthony Lamb added 15 points and Ryan Davis had 12 for Vermont (5-1).

Jamir Reed had 11 points and six rebounds for the Blue Devils (0-6). Jamir Coleman added 11 points.

Greg Outlaw, the Blue Devils' leading scorer entering the contest at 10 points per game, shot only 20 percent for the game (1 of 5).

Vermont plays Gallaudet University at home on Wednesday. Central Connecticut looks for its first win against UMass Lowell on the road next Sunday.
