CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — Two Catholic Church officials who succeeded a Wyoming bishop accused of sexual abuse say a lack of victim cooperation hampered the investigations. The Casper Star-Tribune reports at least 16 men have said they were abused by former Bishop Joseph Hart, who retired in 2001. The Cheyenne diocese says Bishops David Ricken and Paul Etienne forwarded information to legal and church authorities but a lack of willingness by alleged victims prevented initial investigations from proceeding.
CODY, Wyo. (AP) — Investigators say a homicide victim found in northern Wyoming was a 40-year-old woman from Cheyenne. The Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation on Tuesday identified the victim as Angela Elizondo.
CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — The Wyoming Association of Broadcasters says it will push state lawmakers to pass a media shield law. Wyoming is the only U.S. state without legal protections for journalists who refuse to provide the names of confidential sources to law enforcement officers.
LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — Wyoming quarterback Sean Chambers will miss the rest of the season due to a knee injury. Tyler Vander Waal will take over as the Cowboys' starting quarterback Saturday against No. 21 Boise State.
