LOGAN — An elderly woman was found safe by authorities in Weber County around 8:40 p.m. after a Silver Alert was issued Monday just before 6 p.m. in an effort to find the missing 93-year-old woman.

Carolyne Reed was last seen at 781 Riverwalk Drive abut 1 p.m., and a possible sighting of her driving was reported on U.S. 89 southbound out of Cache County, according to the alert.

The alert was canceled about 8:44 p.m., authorities said.

She drives a 2006 red Suzuki with the license plate H106Y.

Further details about how Reed was found weren’t immediately available.

The Silver Alert system is designed to help officials and the public locate elderly missing persons who are often suffering from dementia. It was passed as HB215 during this year’s legislative session.
