BOISE, Idaho (AP) — An Idaho Supreme Court ruling could make it tougher for juveniles molested by state officials to sue their abusers. The high court decision released Monday says five men who said they were sexually abused as youths at a juvenile detention center can't sue the state because they waited too long to file a tort claim. The ruling found that the way Idaho's rules are written, juveniles who want to sue the state for sexual abuse may have less time to file a tort claim compared to adults.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Police have identified an Idaho man who was killed when his powered parachute crashed in southern Utah. Authorities say 68-year-old Rodney Pridmore died when his aircraft crashed at the San Rafael Swell west of Green River. Police say Pridmore was one of five men using a powered parachute consisting of a frame, engine, wheels, and a parachute. Authorities say Pridmore reported problems with his aircraft by radio before he crashed and died upon impact.
BAKER CITY, Ore. (AP) — A missing hunter has been found dead in the Wallowa Mountains in eastern Oregon. The Oregonian/OregonLive reports Andrew Dennis' body was found late Sunday morning. The Baker County Sheriff's Office says it appears he died in "a tragic accident."
FRUITLAND, Idaho (AP) — Police in southwestern Idaho say a 41-year-old woman missing since late September has been found dead in rural Washington County. The Fruitland Police Department says a hunter found the vehicle driven by Sarah Stepp in a rural area on Saturday afternoon, and search and rescue crews found her body a couple of hours later. Police say there are no signs of foul play.
