UNDATED (AP) — After two straight losses, Syracuse will try to regroup when it hosts Western Michigan on Saturday. This is the second straight matchup between the schools. The Broncos threw a scare into the Orange a year ago, scoring three straight touchdowns to open the third quarter before eventually losing 55-42.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — Virginia coach Bronco Mendenhall encourages quarterback Bryce Perkins to freestyle with the Cavaliers offense when necessary. It is working. The freedom given to Perkins has led to impressive results: 11 wins in 16 starts and a Top 25 ranking for the Cavaliers.

STORRS, Conn. (AP) — The University of Connecticut has removed a logo from its online athletic sites after discovering a key piece of it was copied from a North Carolina State athletic logo. The logo featured three canines in the woods and the words "The Pack." It was created to represent UConn's new official student section at sporting events. But the image of the animals is identical to the wolves used in an N.C. State logo, something fans of the Wolfpack were quick to point out on social media.

UNDATED (AP) — Top-ranked Clemson will try and extend its program-record win streak to 19 games when the Tigers play Charlotte of Conference USA. The game Saturday night is the first meeting between the two schools, although the 49ers lost to Clemson's "B" team during in its founding year of 1946. Charlotte stopped play two seasons later before reviving football in 2013. Clemson is coming off a 41-6 victory over Syracuse last week.

UNDATED (AP) — Fifteenth-ranked UCF will look for a resume-building win over a Power Five conference opponent when the Golden Knights travel to Pittsburgh to face the Panthers. UCF has won 27 consecutive regular season games, including a 45-14 blowout victory over Pitt in Orlando last year. The Panthers are coming off a tough 17-10 road loss to rival Penn State. UCF is unsettled at quarterback with true freshman Dillon Gabriel and Notre Dame transfer Brandon Wimbush.

UNDATED (AP) — Virginia will try to continue its best start since the 2004 version went 5-0 when it faces Old Dominion on Saturday night. The Cavaliers are 3-0 for the first time since 2005. Old Dominion is coming off a bye week after losing at Virginia Tech two weeks ago. It will be the first meeting of the programs.
