ELK RIDGE, Utah County — Officials with the Utah County Sheriff's Office say they're looking for a person who stabbed or shot a dog with an arrow earlier this week.

An Elk Ridge woman found her dog, Lucy, injured in her backyard when she returned home Tuesday, according to a Thursday news release from the sheriff's office.

The woman took Lucy to a local veterinarian, who said it appeared someone had either stabbed or shot Lucy using a bow and arrow, a news release says.

Sheriff’s officials said it appeared Lucy would make a full recovery from the incident.

Authorities don’t know who injured the dog and are asking anyone with information on the incident to call Central Utah 911 at 801-794-3970 and ask to speak with a deputy. Those calling can reference case number 19UC09615.
