SALT LAKE CITY — Three wildfires burned in Utah Thursday. See the updates on each below.
The Neck Fire; 3,500 acres, 0% contained
The Neck Fire was first reported to officials Thursday about 5 p.m. Fire officials said it had burned 3,500 acres and was 0% contained.
The brush fire was burning about 15 miles east of Lund and its cause was unknown, officials said. Officials originally said it burned west of Lund but later issued a correction to say it was east.
The Green Ravine Fire; 2,117 acres, 80% contained
The fire burning in Tooele County east of Lake Point since Tuesday grew to 2,117 acres Thursday and was 80% contained, officials said.
Authorities with Tooele County Emergency Management asked people to avoid the area Thursday as firefighters work to contain the fire. The blaze was 10% contained and had burned 1,719 acres Wednesday.
Tuesday, the blaze reached within 200 yards of homes but then moved up the hillside away from residential areas.
Firefighters continued air efforts Thursday to contain the fire.
The Snoqualmie Fire; 128 acres, 76% contained
The fire began Monday evening and forced evacuations of more than 100 homes. By Thursday, the blaze was 128 acres 76% contained, fire officials said.
All evacuations were lifted Tuesday evening and on Wednesday the fire wasn’t threatening homes and was 60% contained, according to fire officials.
However, smoke could still be seen in the area, officials advised.
