SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Authorities say a fuel spill is suspected after a semitrailer carrying butane gas rolled into a reservoir in northern Utah.
Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Nicholas Street said Tuesday there were no injuries in the Monday morning accident that occurred on a highway near Deer Creek Reservoir. Street says the driver was speeding and lost control of the vehicle.
Deer Creek Reservoir is located west of Heber City, Utah, about 30 miles (48 kilometers) southeast of Salt Lake City.
Street says they expect minimal environmental impact from the incident and will conduct further ecological tests to assess any damage.
Authorities plan to close a portion of state Route 189 for several hours to clean up diesel fuel that had leaked from the semitrailer.
